Rides for GOOD

For a very affordable fee, Rides for Good provides adult passengers (age 18 and up) with
door-to-door transportation to essential community services through volunteer drivers
using their own vehicles. Rides must be scheduled at least five (5) days in advance.
Registered passengers must be residents of Frederick County.

Registered passengers may utilize the service for non-emergency medical appointments,
grocery and pharmacy shopping; banking and budget counseling; legal services; faith-
based activities; employment-training, job interviews, and access to community services
including mental health and social services.

Passengers must be physically and cognitively able to conduct their own business once
they are at their destination.

Rides For Good is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation
in, or denied the benefits of its transportation service on the basis of race, color, or
national origin, as protected by Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

In order to become a passenger, you must follow the simple steps outlined below:

STEP 1: Register

Complete and submit the registration form.
Once your registration has been submitted, we will send you via email the following:

1. Passenger agreement and checklist
2. Waiver forms to be submitted
3. Passenger handbook
4. Good Neighbor Fund application
5. Establishing a starting balance in your ride fee account

STEP 2: Schedule Your Ride

Traveling with a companion?

There are no additional fees for anyone riding with you to and/or from the same location. We’ll just need a signed waiver for anyone who accompanies you.

STEP 3: Confirmation

Passengers will receive a message from the Rides for Good Operations Center 24 hours in advance of your ride, confirming all details and introducing you to your volunteer driver.

STEP 4: Take Your Trip

Your Volunteer Driver will arrive on time to pick you up and take you to your destination. Each of our thoroughly-vetted drivers are members of the Frederick County community, have completed a criminal background check, attended orientation, and passed a driving record check to ensure your safety and comfort.

STEP 5: Repeat!

It’s that easy. You can set up a reoccurring trip if you have a weekly or monthly appointment, or you can notify us when you’re ready to ride again.
